Setup

  • Place the board in the center. Set the outbreak marker to 0 and the infection rate marker to the starting position.

  • Each player takes a random role card and places their pawn on Atlanta, where the initial research center is located.

  • Deal the starting player cards according to the number of players: 2 players get 4 cards, 3 players get 3 cards, 4 players get 2 cards.

  • Divide the remaining player cards into equal piles and shuffle 1 epidemic card into each pile. Introductory game: 4 stacks. Normal game: 5 stacks. Heroic Game: 6 stacks. Match the stacks to form the final deck.

  • Shuffle the infection deck and reveal the first 3 cards: place 3 disease cubes in each city. Reveal 3 more cards: 2 cubes each. Reveal 3 final cards: 1 cube in each.

Rules

  1. 1

Each player receives a role with a special ability (Doctor, Scientist, Researcher...).

  2. 2

Place disease cubes in the cities indicated by the starting infection cards.

  3. 3

Per turn: Take 4 actions (move, treat disease, share knowledge, discover cure).

  4. 4

End of turn: draw 2 player cards; if an Epidemic card comes out, the intensity of the infections increases.

  5. 5

You win if you find the cure for all 4 diseases before you run out of decks or beat the outbreaks.

Victory conditions

The team wins if they discover the cure for all 4 diseases by discarding 5 cards of the same color in a research center. The team loses if 8 bursts are reached, if the cubes of any color are used up, or if the cards in the player's deck are used up
