Setup

  • Set up the central board with the ocean zones and the available research discs.

  • Each player takes their institute board, 5 Effort discs and their starting specialists.

  • Shuffle the Discovery and Conservation cards and place them face down beside the board.

  • Place the starting vessels in port and set every player's score to zero.

TURN STRUCTURE

  • Each turn you activate a Specialist and perform the matching action by spending Effort discs.

AVAILABLE ACTIONS

Sail

Move your vessel to an already known ocean zone

Explore

Discover a new zone and place a presence disc there

Dive

Collect Research cards from a zone where you have presence

Conservation

Remove disruptions and protect the ecosystem to score points

Publish

Discard Research cards to advance in one of the four scientific tracks

SCIENTIFIC TRACKS

  • Engineering, Culture, Diplomacy and Expertise develop independently and unlock stronger vessels and specialists.

END OF GAME

  • The game ends when a track's scoring disc pile runs out or the final round of the tracker is completed.
