Nippon: Zaibatsu is the new edition of the classic eurogame Nippon, set in the industrialization of Japan in the Meiji era. Each player controls a zaibatsu and must build factories, produce goods and gain influence in the regions to become the most powerful conglomerate in the country.

Setup

  • Place the main board in the center of the table.

  • Place 8 random Demand tiles, one per city, with random orientation.

  • Place the round markers in the left squares of the round track.

  • Place the Expert Worker and Improved Department tokens in the Iwakura Mission area.

  • Fill the bag with workers according to the number of players.

  • Fill the recruitment zone with 3 random workers per square.

  • Fill the Worker Queue with random workers.

  • Separate standard factories by type and make them available according to the number of players.

  • Place goods, resources and money in the general reserve.

  • Each player chooses a color, sets up their Zaibatsu board and places ships, machines and trains on it.
