GOAL
You compete with the growing Pan American Airways and other companies to build the biggest airline empire. Whoever has the most Pan Am shares at the end of the game wins.
STRUCTURE OF THE GAME
The game is played in 7 rounds, each with 4 phases: Event, Engineering, Resolution and Pan Am.
EVENT PHASE
The round's Event card is revealed, which applies an effect common to all players or modifies the market for that round.
ENGINEERING PHASE
Area A – Airports
Grant landing rights (departure and arrival) and add 1 to the revenue counter; pay the auction cost and place an airport from your reservation on a free space on the map
Area B – Destinations
Grants landing rights; you need 2 adjacent Destination cards to claim a route with an aircraft of the corresponding value
Area C – Airplanes
Auction the planes available in the hangar; Cruiser and Jet aircraft appear in rounds 3 and 6 respectively
Area E – Directives
Gives access to Directive cards with special and scoreable effects
RESOLUTION PHASE
Areas where Engineers are placed are resolved in order, paying the indicated costs. If a player cannot pay, he must sell shares at the current price minus 2 coins to cover the debt; if he still doesn't get it, he loses all the money and the turn. Once each area is resolved, the engineers return to their owners.
PAN AM PHASE
The Pan Am Company progresses by buying routes from players interested in selling them and growing across the map according to the rules of the Events deck.
