Setup

  • Roll the die to determine which Payoo number is the Papayoo this hand.

  • Shuffle the deck (70 cards: 4 suits from 1 to 10 + 10 numbered Payoos).

  • Deal all the cards equally among the players.

  • Each player passes 3 cards to the player on the left before starting.

GOAL

  • Get as few points as possible. Payoos are worth negative points and the Papayoo (the Payoo with the number on the die) is worth twice its number.

START OF EACH HAND

  • Before playing, each player chooses 3 cards from their hand and passes them to the player on their left. You have to decide well which passes, because you receive those from the player on the right.

JUG'S TURN

  • The player with Payoo's 1 starts first base. Follow the stick of the first player if you can. If the suit cannot be followed, any card is played. Whoever plays the highest card in the starting suit takes the base.

SCORE

Cards in the normal 4 suits do not score. Payoos are worth the points of your number:

Payoos 1–9

They are worth their number in points

Papaya

It is worth twice its number in points

END OF GAME

  • The game lasts several hands until one player exceeds 250 points. At that point, the player with the fewest accumulated points wins.
