Setup
Place the center board (with the time track) on the table and the Year marker on the first space.
Each player randomly chooses or deals a Pilot card, which gives a variable ability, and takes the player board, the Pilot pawn, and the Flight Record marker of their color.
Each player builds their starting Flight deck with the basic Gliding cards indicated by their personal board.
Prepare the decks of Development cards (technology, friends, and skills) and form the corresponding displays on the edge of the center board.
Give each player the starting coins indicated by the rules.
Place each player's pawn on the first space of the time track.
GOAL
You play as one of the aviation pioneers of the early 20th century, competing to design and pilot the plane that flies the farthest. Whoever has the longest flight record when the game ends wins.
THE TRACK OF TIME
The game takes place over 4 years. On each turn, the player occupying the furthest position on the time track moves their Pilot pawn forward to the action space of their choice and resolves its effect. The further you move the pawn, the more "time" passes before you can play again.
ACTIONS AVAILABLE
Investigate
Draw and play a green Development card, which grants a one-time ability per flight (marked as exhausted after use and recovered at the end of the round)
Find friends
Draw and play a yellow Development card, which grants a limited-use ability once per year
Improve
Acquire a blue Development card, with a permanent effect that is added to your Vol deck
Get money

Fly

THE ACTION OF FLYING
Shuffle your Flight deck and start drawing and playing cards one at a time, adding up the distance of each card: Glide cards add 1, Enhance cards add 2-5, and Research cards add 1, plus they let you draw an extra Glide card from the common deck. At any time before you crash you can play your Descent card (after using any available Ability cards): by doing so, you shuffle the rest of your Flight deck and draw 2 more cards to add to your total, gaining 5 extra distance points if you didn't crash, or just 2 if you did. Whether you crash or not, you always record the total distance covered; if it beats your previous Flight Record, update the scoreboard.
END OF GAME
The game ends as soon as any player's Flight Record score exceeds 36 points. Whoever has the highest flight record (distance) wins.
Victory conditions
- Longest Flight Record
- The player with the highest flight record (distance) wins once someone exceeds 36 points on the Flight Record scoreboard
