Setup

  • Set up the board with the ships, the market and the doubloon and goods supply.

  • Each player receives an empty personal island and their starting doubloon.

  • Shuffle the role cards and place them in the center of the table.

  • Randomly determine turn order and the starting governor.

TURN STRUCTURE

  • One player picks a role and, in turn order, every player may execute it.

Settler

Place a new colonist on a plantation or building

Mayor

Distribute new colonists among plantations and buildings

Craftsman

Produce goods based on colonists on plantations

Trader

Sell a good at the city market

Captain

Load goods onto ships to score victory points

Draw extra plantation tiles

ROLE PRIVILEGE

  • Whoever picks the role always gets an extra privilege when executing it.

BUILDINGS

  • Production buildings process goods, and purple buildings grant special bonuses when activated.

Victory conditions

Most points when the game ends
The game ends when colonists run out or someone fills their island; whoever has the most victory points from buildings and ships wins
