Setup
Place gem tokens in the center: 7 of each color (4 for 2 players) and 5 gold tokens.
Deal development cards in 3 rows of 4 face-up cards, each with its face-down deck.
Place Noble tiles face-up: n+1 nobles, where n is the number of players.
Each player starts with no tokens or cards.
TURN STRUCTURE
On your turn, perform exactly ONE of the following actions.
AVAILABLE ACTIONS
Take gems
Take 3 tokens of different colors, or 2 of the same color if at least 4 are available
Reserve a card
Keep up to 3 cards in hand and receive 1 gold token (wild)
Buy a card
Pay the cost of a card on the board or one of your reserved cards
BONUSES
Purchased cards provide permanent color bonuses that reduce the cost of future purchases
Gold tokens substitute any gem in payment
TOKEN LIMIT
Maximum 10 tokens in hand at end of turn; discard the excess
NOBLES
A noble automatically visits the first player who meets the required color bonuses; worth 3 points
Victory conditions
- 15 prestige points
- The first player to reach 15 points wins at the end of the current round (all players complete their turn)
