Setup

  • Place the board in the center. Place the 9 ocean tiles in the reserved space. Place the temperature and oxygen markers in their starting positions. Set the generation marker to 1.

  • Each player takes a player board and places all production markers at 1. The Terraforming Value (VT) marker starts at 20.

  • Each player receives 2 corporation cards and chooses 1. Apply the starting resources and production indicated by the chosen card,

  • Deal 10 project cards to each player. Each card you want to keep costs 3 Megacredits. Those not chosen are discarded.

  • The first generation starts directly with the action phase (no research phase).

Rules

  1. 1

Each round is divided into 4 phases.

  2. 2

Player Order: The starting player tile goes to the next one clockwise.

  3. 3

Research: each player draws 4 cards and chooses how many they want to keep, paying €3M per card. Those not chosen are discarded.

  4. 4

Action: Each player takes 1 or 2 actions per turn. Players take turns until they all pass. A passing player can take no further actions this generation. Actions include playing a project card, using a blue card action, placing an ocean tile, converting plants to forests, converting heat to temperature, or doing standard projects.

  5. 5

Production: Simultaneously: convert energy into heat, gain resources (M€ = VT + M€ production), and remove markers from action cards.

Victory conditions

  • The game ends when all three global parameters (temperature, oxygen and oceans) have reached their target level. The game ends when that generation ends. Points are scored for accumulated VT, for points from cards in play, for tiles on the board (1 point per forest, 1 point for each forest adjacent to one's own city) and for hits and rewards. In the event of a tie, the player with the most M€ wins.
