Setup
Shuffle the 40-card deck (four suits from 1–9) along with the 4 submarine cards (trumps).
Deal all cards evenly among players. The player holding submarine 4 leads the first trick.
Read the current mission from the mission booklet and assign objective cards to team members (each player places their objective face-up in front of them).
Check whether the mission imposes any additional communication restrictions.
ROUND STRUCTURE
The active player leads a card. Others must follow suit if able; otherwise they may discard or play a trump (submarine). The highest trump wins the trick; if none were played, the highest card of the led suit wins.
OBJECTIVES
Each player must win exactly their assigned objective cards. Winning random tricks is not enough — if a teammate's objective card falls in your trick, the mission fails immediately.
COMMUNICATION
Communication is very limited. Once per game, each player may show one of their own cards using the communication token and indicate whether it is their highest, lowest, or only card of that suit. Nothing else may be revealed.
MISSIONS
Each mission in the booklet has its own rules: special objectives, additional communication restrictions, or ordering conditions. Read it carefully before starting. Missions are played in order of increasing difficulty.
Victory conditions
The team wins if every player achieves exactly their assigned objective cards within the same game.
Any failure to achieve an objective means the mission is lost.
